Santana High School Project Details:

PROJECT CATEGORY: K-12 Education

COMPLETION DATE:  2019

Construction of all interior finishes of Santana High School Event Center & Physical Educational Building.

Santana High School in the Grossmont Union High School District needed to replace a dilapidated locker room building with a dual functioning facility. The new 21,200-gross-square-foot building now provides Santana a state-of-the-art facility for campus events, performances, conferences, and physical education activities. Superintendent Tim Glover stated that the building’s “high performance design” was a significant factor contributing to the project’s success. The building brings together the performing arts and physical education under one roof. In doing so, the school connects two typically separate groups, promoting unity and inclusion. This connection is further developed through the Hall of Fame, a space which physically connects the two groups. The Hall of Fame is designed to inspire pride in their alma mater through elements like trophy cases and banners. In addition to showcasing the school’s rich heritage, the Hall of Fame area acts as a meeting space during events. The project also includes boys and girls locker room, coaches’ offices, sports team rooms, restrooms and showers, wrestling rooms, dance room, trainer’s room, and multi-use event space with telescoping theatre seating.
